Chocolate: Your Secret Weapon for Hormonal Harmony
As I write this blog, I’m licking my lips and I might have chocolate on my face. But seriously, let’s talk about something we don’t discuss enough: how the right nutrition can transform your energy, mood and yes, even your libido during menopause and beyond.
This is a BIG deal
If you’re here because we met at the BIG event yesterday, welcome! If we didn’t meet yesterday, it’s great to have you here to share my secrets about love, sex and chocolate.
The food of love
The Aztecs weren’t wrong—they called cacao the ‘food of the gods’ and Montezuma allegedly drank 50 cups of chocolate daily to keep up with his harem.
Here are the key ingredients and why they matter:
Healthy Fats for Hormone Synthesis
Your body needs quality fats to produce hormones. The coconut oil and almond meal in these bliss balls provide the building blocks your body craves for optimal hormone balance.
Protein for Blood Sugar Balance & Libido-Supporting Energy
Stable blood sugar means stable energy and mood throughout your day. The protein powder keeps you satisfied and energised, supporting the stamina you need for everything life throws at you.
Functional Mushrooms for Stress Resilience & Mood Support
Adaptogenic mushrooms help your body handle stress more gracefully. When you’re not running on cortisol fumes, everything else falls into place, including your mood and wellbeing.
Cacao Antioxidants for Cellular Protection & Healthy Ageing
Rich in antioxidants, cacao doesn’t just taste amazing. It protects your cells from oxidative stress and supports healthy ageing from within.

The recipe:
Here is the recipe, it’s super simple to make, just mix and roll, so it’s really just a few quantities.
Mood Mojo Bliss Balls
I’ve always had a sweet tooth so I love to have a healthy snack on hand and these keep really well in the fridge or, if you want to make a big batch, you can freeze them too! I’m a proud affiliate with Arbonne and I love their clean protein – it’s an easy way to get 30g of protein in a smoothie for example, and gives you all the essential amino acids as well as vitamins and minerals, without any bulky fillers.
1 cup ground almonds
4 scoops Arbonne chocolate protein powder
4 tablespoons cacao powder
2 tablespoons blackstrap molasses
3/4 cup coconut oil, melted
1/8 cup Arbonne mushroom powder
Just mix the ingredients and roll into balls. Finish off by rolling in cacao powder and *cinnamon (optional).
* cinnamon is really supportive of balanced blood sugar
